Overview

If you're in Spokane, WA, and on the lookout for a hearty meal that brings a touch of authentic flavor, Cochinito is a place you definitely shouldn't miss. Located at 10 N Post St, Spokane, WA 99201, this cozy restaurant has been making waves in the local dining scene with its unique take on traditional Mexican dishes.

Walking into Cochinito, you're immediately greeted by a warm, welcoming vibe that makes it feel like home. The interior is a perfect blend of modern and rustic, with colorful accents that bring a lively energy to the space. Whether you're coming in for a casual lunch or a dinner with friends, the atmosphere sets the stage for a great meal.

The menu at Cochinito is a true reflection of Mexican culinary traditions with a contemporary twist. You’ll find all the classic favorites, but they’ve elevated each dish with high-quality ingredients and innovative techniques. From tacos to tortas, each item is crafted with care and precision. One standout is their signature Cochinita Pibil, a slow-cooked pork dish that’s rich in flavor and tenderness. The pork is marinated in achiote, wrapped in banana leaves, and slow-cooked to perfection, creating a mouthwatering dish that's both smoky and savory.

If you're a fan of spice, Cochinito offers a variety of salsas ranging from mild to fiery hot, allowing you to customize the heat level of your meal. Their salsa verde, made with fresh tomatillos and cilantro, is a favorite for many regulars, adding just the right amount of tang to any dish.

For something a little different, try their tacos de lengua or barbacoa. The lengua is tender and flavorful, and the barbacoa is rich and succulent, both of which are served on soft, warm tortillas that complement the fillings perfectly. These dishes are a great representation of the depth and variety of flavors you'll encounter throughout the menu.

Beyond the food, what sets Cochinito apart is its commitment to providing excellent service. The staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to offer recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a frequent diner, you’ll feel like part of the Cochinito family.

Cochinito also offers a range of beverages to accompany your meal. From refreshing aguas frescas to a well-curated selection of Mexican beers, there’s something to suit every taste. Their margaritas, made with fresh lime juice and premium tequila, are a popular choice and a great way to kick off your meal.

One of the best things about Cochinito is its dedication to using locally sourced ingredients. By partnering with local farmers and suppliers, they ensure that every dish is made with the freshest produce and meats available. This focus on quality ingredients shines through in every bite, whether you're enjoying a rich mole or a perfectly seared piece of fish.

If you're not in the mood to dine in, Cochinito also offers takeout, so you can enjoy their delicious meals at home. Whether you're grabbing lunch for the office or picking up dinner for a night in, their takeout service is efficient and always up to par with the in-restaurant experience.

the bougie tacos were absolutely delicious. carne asada was very tender. had carnitas, buche and the octopus and chorizo tacos, each were distinct and delicious. served with black beans and rice.. prices were comparable to other taquerias

This is one of my favorite taco places ever! I love the unique flavors they come up with!! Whenever I come to Spokane, I try to come here. I wish they were open on Sundays, but I get it. I also wish they offered flour tortillas because I’m form sensitive. But I don’t care about having a reaction because it’s THAT good

Holy smokes. Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Unique salsa flavors. Fresh and delicious. GF options available

Cochinito is a great spot for fast, flavorful eats. I had the birria tacos and the lambβ€”both tender, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. You order at the counter, and service was fast and efficient. Water is self-serve, and the space has a modern, laid-back vibe with cool decor. Great for a quick but satisfying meal. Construction in the area made it a bit of an adventure to find, but the signage is clear which helps.

I had high hopes for this place, but was left meh. The tacos are pricey and lacking a lot of flavor. The Cochinita was a big disappointment, not done right at all, but I can't fault them since we live in the YucatΓ‘n and are spoiled. The tacos were OK, just not great or that full for the price. The chips and salsa wasn't bad, just a bit too chunky. Overall the value for quality isn't up to par.

We loved this place! We came for restaurant week and although it was busy, the food was great and the service was good. I loved the steak and birria tacos and I am already dreaming about having them again. The hibiscus panna cotta is heavenly. Seriously it was so good, I'm glad I shared with my husband because I'm trying to lose weight and I would devoured the entire thing. Their guac was chips were great as well. I personally didn't care for their rice and beans or churros. The rice and beans were a little bland and the churros were a little too crispy. The elote bowl was fine, I mainly tried it to try something new.
